You Must Not Tell Lies


Exodus 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,
Exodus 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour [NCV™: You must not tell lies about your neighbor].

Exodus 23:1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness [NCV™: You must not tell lies. If you are a witness in court, don't help a wicked person by telling lies].

Exodus 23:7 Keep thee far from a false matter [NCV™: You must not lie when you accuse someone in court]; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

Leviticus 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
